Sucka-Free Sunday
My week was raggedy so I was hell-bent on making up for the turmoil this weekend. Of course all good things never happen to me so I ended up ripping and running. I remember back in the day it was all about being busy and stuff but now that's so played. I'm old now and I need my rest.Anyway, after a day of a lot of stuff not worth mentioning I had an opportunity to check one of my million e-mail accounts (I'm really trying to deal with my personality disorder... lol). Guess who wrote me? HIM!!! He wrote and asked me to call HIM ASAP. Of course I didn't cause, well... cause I'm such a girl sometimes. I waited as long as I could (about 3 hours) and then I called. He didn't answer. I didn't leave a message.I promised I wouldn't call back 'cause I didn't want to clutter my already cluttered mind. I did and he still didn't answer. For real this time, I will not call. I need a sucka-free Sunday and I'm going to make it happen. How long y'all giving me?
Evacuation
Okay, I was in the thick of things during this evacuation and I have some stuff on my mind. Really, I just have a few tales to regale you with. First, I had to leave Houston Wednesday so that I could pick up my mom. At first the plan was to scoop her up and then head to Austin but that meant backtracking to Houston and then on to Austin. Yes, our plan was faulty from the beginning. We had to reevaluate this plan and luckily, my brother, sister and I had time on the road to look over our plan of action. After 11 hours on the freeway (yes 11 hours when it usually takes 2... and two of the eleven were on one bridge!!) I reached my mom's house and crashed for an hour. Then we had to evacuate again and so we caught up with my dad on his way out and we followed him to his hometown (three car caravan). There was bumper to bumper traffic again on the one road leading out of the city and a three-hour trip turned into 17. Talk about slow... I mean crawling. It was hell too. Yes, HELL!!! Like 100 degrees or something.
When we finally arrived and saw people spilling out of my aunt's house we just reclined the seats in the SUV's and passed out. After a dead sleep of about 4 hours we woke up and got the best news of all! The hurricane was following us. YAY!What do we do when we are standing in the path of an impending natural disaster? We have a fish fry, of course. It was good, too. lol
