FEMA Fallout
Mike Brown resigned today. What a surprise! I just know he was nervous when he got the call from Michael Chertoff. Before Chertoff could say anything I bet Mike tossed his letter of resignation on the desk and scurried away. Typical, huh? Lol
My biggest problem with Brown is that he does come across as simple. If you are the head of FEMA and the media asks you about the NOLA convention center and you have no idea what the hell they are talking about… DON’T SAY THAT!!! Obviously it’s something bad so all you need to do is say something like… ‘we are looking into it’ or maybe ‘we are overwhelmed because of the magnitude of this disaster but trust believe (that’s my ghetto coming out lol) we are handling it.’
That’s all he had to say. But nooooooo, he was like… ‘There’s a convention center there?’ Duh
And how about the governor getting caught talking to her press secretary during a commercial break. She was all ‘Maybe I should have called for troops earlier.’ Another big DUH! Of course she should have, but what I’m pissed about is that she thought the middle of a television interview, still mic’d was the best time to discuss it. Then when questioned about the statement I guess they went with the old game plan ‘make them believe they didn’t hear what I clearly said.’ Um, I’m not falling for it.
*Whew* People these days…
